Fascinating podcast being described! Without knowing it myself, so just going on what you said, it felt reductionist to boil its influences down to Lovecraft. What you described sounded much more like Bradbury (Something Wicked This Way Comes) and Gaimon (American Gods). True, Lovecraft may be behind everything but he's such a poor writer honestly and the sorts of personal yet socially aware eldritch horror you're describing is much more nuanced as others have developed the art. I'd be interested to know much more about who the podcasters consider their inspirations literarily speaking.

As for the podcast production itself, I'm not surprised it has outstanding sound design - that would be a necessity for something that appears to be much more storytelling- and radio drama- inspired than interview or opinion style podcasting. It's really an entirely different genre.
